ABOUT US

Inner City Dance Club of Miami Corporation was formed in 2012 to extend transformative dance experiences to inner-city youth. In the first five years of business, Inner City Dance Club of Miami has successfully taught students from financially limited homes or drug, gang, poverty, and violent ridden communities how to embrace a greater sense of self worth, academic accountability, and behavior modification through visual and performing arts. Strategic partnerships with local schools, task force agencies and other community organizations have become an asset to Inner City Dance Club of Miami's growth. Participants, communities and organizations recognize Inner City Dance Club of Miami as an influential youth enrichment organization in Miami, Florida.
At Inner City Dance of Miami, students are treated with respect and given a true sense of love and acceptance. Inner City Dance Club of Miami is a home away from home and the only "home" to many. Daily, participants are reminded that they are jewels and no matter where they live, where they are from or what they may have gone through, they are beautiful, needed, important and valued. Outside of the dance curriculum, Inner City Dance Club of Miami hold weekly mother/daughter relationship building workshops to help address and resolve many of the challenges adolescent young ladies face due to the lack of transparency and communication in the homes. Inner City Dance Club of Miami believes that happy children are successful children and it is this organization's main focus to develop the overall child. It is Inner City Dance Club of Miami's motto that "The deeper you dig in any inner city, the more likely you are to find it's hidden jewels." Inner City Dance Club of Miami is a village and proudly take the responsibility in keeping that village strong. Inner City Dance Club of Miami prides itself on "Healing Broken Communities Through The Art of Dance."

OUR CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is developed through teacher observation of each child. Concepts and skills are introduced based on which are appropriate to each child's stage of development. We strive to insure that all aspects of our curriculum are inclusive, allowing for the recolonization, inclusion and the comfort of our diverse community. Although learning is individualized, we keep in mind that children are learning to be part of a group. Respect for others and practice in seeing other points of view are important aspects of this process.

SHOWCASES

At ICDC Miami, we recognize and celebrate that the dance experience begins in the classroom, but culminates on the stage. Showcases are your child's chance to show what they have learned, to add a new dimension to their dance experience and to grow as a performer. The ICDC Miami Student Performance Showcase is open to ALL students of ALL levels.

RECITALS

ICDC Miami produces three recitals each year in June, August and December. Featuring students from all groups and a variety of music and dance, our recitals are entertaining and well-received.
